Marti Balcom: Founder and Prez
Over twenty years ago Marti formed TBG to offer the value of a skilled team of meeting professionals to enable clients to receive superior meeting and conference management services that facilitate furthering their organization’s mission. Simultaneously, TBG staff have had the unique opportunity to work with people who champion issues that affect societal change. More than twenty years later this company philosophy holds strong.
Marti is an expert conference planner and designer. She has the unique ability to see the big picture and to run a conference that satisfies the goals of her clients — while surpassing their expectations. Additionally, Marti understands the endless details required to pull off a successful event. We all know the devil is, indeed, in the details.
Her experience, along with her deep knowledge of her craft and her understanding of the importance of solid relationships with her clients, partners, and suppliers allows Marti to be a valuable resource, ally, colleague and friend.
Hilton recently hosted their WOWMAKERS MAKE AMAZING HAPPEN CONTEST, receiving stories from meeting planners and travel counselors across North America about how they went above and beyond to design a memorable event or travel experience.
Hilton is excited to share that our own Marti Balcom was named as a First Prize winner! Marti told the story of how she used color and circular design to bring her client’s theme of “Connections, Intersections, and Collaborations” to life and make an emotional impact on attendees. To help Marti to continue to learn and WOW her clients, she received an all-expense-paid trip for her and a guest to the 2019 PCMA Convening Leaders annual meeting. Congratulations Marti!
And since no bio would be complete without a personal closing… Marti loves (really, really loves) her dogs and living near the country where she can hike, kayak and hang out with other well-loved dogs and her husband. (and continue her small but meaningful fight against the oxford comma)
